Assoc. Prof. Aiša Softić

University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Philosophy (retired)

Professor Softić is an ethnologist and anthropologist who graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo in 1979. She subsequently obtained her Master's degree (1986) and doctorate (2000) from the same institution. Professor Softić worked for many years at the National Museum in Sarajevo, where she served as Director from 2003 to 2008. From 2014 until her retirement in 2021, she was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, affiliated with both the Department of Archaeology and the Department of Sociology.

Professor Softić's primary research interests focus on oral literature, folklore, ethnology, and cultural anthropology within the Balkan region. In these fields, she has conducted numerous research projects and published many scholarly articles and monographs.

Professor Softić is a member of the Centre for Balkan Studies at the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
