Abstract

Among the grave or tombstone objects are the so-called ridged covers made of stone (mostly domestic limestone - bihacite) in the form of a square or rectangular plate, and as their name suggests, a longitudinal "ridge" runs through the middle of the upper surface, which evokes the appearance of a gable roof, as a result of which the front and back sides are more or less elongated triangular or pentagonal in shape. A number of ridged lids have a Latin tombstone inscription with more or less information about the deceased, and sometimes some ornaments. Due to considerable damage, it is not entirely certain that were they originally made in this characteristic form or could they have the form of a roughly processed thicker plate.
