Prof. Attila Gyucha

Professor Gyucha is an archaeologist and anthropologist, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at József Attila University, Szeged (1996). He obtained his doctorate from the Faculty of Arts at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, in 2010. From 1996 to 2024, he worked as an Archaeologist, Curator, and Collection Manager in various heritage and museum institutions in Hungary (Békéscsaba, Szeged, Budapest). Since 2014, he has been active in the USA. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Georgia, USA.
Professor Gyucha's main academic interests include: socio-economic and cultural changes in European prehistory, population nucleation and urbanism, and human-environmental relationships. Within these fields, he has authored and edited numerous scholarly works.
Professor Gyucha has managed many scientific projects, including various research, conservation, and exhibition programmes. He is a member of the Association of Hungarian Archaeologists, the Society for Hungarian Prehistory, the European Association of Archaeologists, the Society for American Archaeology, and the Archaeological Institute of America.
