Prof. Lejla Nakaš

Professor Nakaš is a Slavist philologist who graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo in 1992. She subsequently obtained her Master's degree (2002) and doctorate (2009) from the same institution. Her academic career commenced in 1995. Among other roles, she has served as a lecturer in the Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian languages at Aix-Marseille University in France. She is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo.

Professor Nakaš's primary research interests lie in the study of medieval Slavic manuscripts and the Slavic translations of the Bible. She participates in various international linguistic projects and, in this capacity, has published and edited numerous scholarly articles and other works. Furthermore, she organises and leads a project on the digitisation of medieval Bosnian texts, conducted in the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Professor Nakaš is a member of the Centre for Balkan Studies at the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
