Prof. Staša Babić

Professor Babić is an archaeologist and a graduate of the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Philosophy (1986). At the same university, she obtained her Master's Degree in 1989 and her doctorate in 1998. Since 2018, she has been a Full Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Archaeology, University of Belgrade.

Professor Babić's main academic interests include archaeological theory and epistemology, the archaeology of Ancient Greece, the European Iron Age and archaeology and contemporary society. Within these fields, she has authored and edited numerous scholarly works and directed several archaeological research projects.

Professor Babić serves as an expert, leader, or member on various international committees. Among other roles, she served as Chair of the Scientific Committee for the 31^st Annual Conference of the European Association of Archaeologists, which was held in Belgrade, Serbia, in September 2025.
